RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE PURCHASE OF DIGITAL IN-CAR CAMERA SYSTEMS FOR THREE (3) INGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PATROL VEHICLES

 

RESOLUTION #10-319

 

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office in 2010 purchased twelve (12) Digital In-Car Camera Systems from L3 Mobile Vision for the Sheriff’s Office Field Services Patrol Vehicles using 2009 and 2010 Capital Improvement funds; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office applied for and received in 2010, a $15,000.00 RAP Grant from Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority (MMRMA) top purchase additional Digital In-Car Camera Systems; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approved acceptance of the above MMRMA RAP Grant of $15,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office would like to purchase three (3) additional Digital In-Car Camera Systems from L3 Mobile Vision to add to the Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicle fleet with camera capabilities; and

 

WHEREAS, the purchase of these three (3) additional Digital In-Car Camera Systems, would allow the Sheriff’s Office under current staffing levels, to have complete coverage of patrol units on patrol with digital camera capabilities; and

 

WHEREAS, the total cost of the purchase for three (3) Digital In-Car Camera Systems from L3 Mobile Vision is $16,726.35, which the Sheriff’s Office will use the $15,000.00 from the 2010 MMRMA RAP Grant to pay for this purchase and the remaining costs $1,726.35 of the purchase of the three (3) Digital In-Car Camera Systems would be paid for by Sheriff’s Office Forfeiture Fund.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves L3 Mobile Vision proposal for the purchase of three (3) In-Car cameras plus the associated computer hardware for operation and storage at a cost not to exceed $16,726.35 to be funded through the RAP Grant ($15,000) and Drug Forfeiture funds (1,726.35).

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Controller/Administrator’s Office is authorized to make the necessary budget adjustments and the Purchasing Department is authorized to issue the necessary purchase order or purchase documents needed.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contract/purchase documents consistent with this Resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
