WHAT WE DO...

Appointed by Board Chairperson, 5 year terms. The Commission was authorized and directed to convert the old Medical Care Facility, located on Dobie Road in Okemos, into low-income housing for senior citizens and handicapped individuals who are residents of the County, and to rent the facility to senior citizens and handicapped residents of the County who have insufficient income to otherwise afford adequate housing. The Commission has complete control over the Facility housing project, including construction, maintenance and operation of the same.
