How To Apply

Thank you for  your interest in employment with Ingham County.

All candidates must submit an Ingham County Application for Employment to be considered for available job opportunities.

Please submit only one application during any calendar year (January 1, xxxx thru December 31, xxxx). Multiple applications are overloading our processing system.  

To apply for  multiple positions at the same time or throughout the year, please submit directed cover letters for individual positions. 

When there is an opening that you believe you are qualified for, you must submit an application or a cover letter identifying the positions you wish to be considered for. Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m Friday of the end of the two-week posting period. 

Applications for employment may be submitted the following ways:

  • Online - For your convenience, online submittal is available. However, you cannot attach your cover letter, resume, and transcripts to the application. Cover letters, resumes, transcripts must be sent via e-mail at hr@ingham.org, FAX or US Mail.

  • Hand delivered - Applications may be delivered to the Human Resources Department between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday

  • Mail - Please allow time for delivery.

  • Fax - (517) 887-4396

All applications must be submitted to the Human Resources Department by 5:00 PM on the closing date of the position. Applications for closed positions will not be accepted.

Only the minimum requirements are included in the description of the job. Only the most qualified applicants with the most directly related education and experience will be referred for the position. For purposes of college education and those requirements of education beyond High School, the following guidelines will be used:

30 credits = 1 year                  90 credits = 3 years

60 credits = 2 years                120 credits = 4 years
