DIRECTOR OF FINANCE $59,065 to $76,339
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Managing Director, manages the accounting and financial functions of the Road Commission and supervises the Finance Department staff. Also works in conjunction with the Managing Director and department directors to prepare the annual operating budget, prepares the Annual Act 51 Financial Report, prepares township cost share data and oversees invoicing townships for the annual cost sharing programs, and maintains federal and state aid project accounts.
Physical Requirements: Ability to travel to other locations, to communicate verbally and in writing, ability to enter and access information from a computer, and ability to stand or stoop. Light lifting.
Degree/Experience: Four (4) year Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited College or University. Six (6) years of management experience in a public sector organization with substantial experience in finance and accounting. Experience with Road Commission budgeting and finance preferred. Possession of a valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
Location: The position is in the Ingham County Road Commission’s Finance Department located in the Austin E. Cavanaugh Administration Building, 301 N. Bush Street, Mason, Michigan 48854.
