Ingham County 4H Horse Project Awards
| Golden Feedbag Award | |

Requirement to Apply |
An Individual or group who demonstrates Outstanding dedication to the 4-H Horse Program. |
|
Number of Awards Given |
One and may only win this award one time. |
|
Application Process |
Nomination narrations are accepted through September at the 4H office due at the September horse committee meeting. Marked ballots are due at the October Horse committee (one vote per club adults by adults). |

Type of Award |
A plaque and name added to the plaque in the 4H office. |
| Outstanding Horse Member Award | |
|
Requirement to Apply |
Applicant must be a 4-H Horse or Horseless Horse Project member in good standing for at least one project year. |

Number of Awards Given |
Up to five top scores |

Application Process |
Complete "Outstanding Horse Member" application form top scores determined by point system, due first Monday in October. |
| Type of Award | The Ingham County 4-H Horse Committee will present a $50 Savings Bond and a gift to the top scores in 4 categories. |

Requirement to Apply |
Ingham County 4H horse member ages 13-19 who demonstrates "Outstanding service to the Ingham County 4H Horse Program" |

Application Process |
Nomination due at the September horse committee meeting. The member is nominated in 100 words or less ballot. Ballots are due and voted on at the October Horse committee by their peers. Recipients are announced at the Horse Awards Banquet in November. |

| Senior Ceremony | |
|
Requirement to Apply |
4-H members in the horse project who are graduating seniors |
|
Number of Awards Given |
All 4-H horse project members who are graduating seniors. |
|
Application Process |
The high school graduates write a short story sharing their 4-H career and goals for their future. This story must be typed and submitted at vet check. |
|
Type of Award |
The graduating seniors are honored at Fair in a riding ceremony led by the Ingham County Mounted Division. |
| Barn Award | |
|
Requirement to Apply |
Horse Clubs choosing to decorate their barns compete based on daily scores relating to interaction with people at the barn, team work and cleanliness. |
|
Number of Awards Given |
The club receiving the highest daily score earns the daily ribbon. One club receiving overall combined highest score from all four days at Fair will be awarded a plaque, |

Participants sign up at the fair. |

Daily Ribbon at the fair. Plaque for top score at the 4-H Horse Award Banquet. |
| Flamingo Award | |
|
Requirement to Apply |
Created in the memory of Brenda Curtis goes to the one who displays the best sportsmanship attitude and grace under pressure in the gymkhana speed classes. |

Number of Awards Given |
The judge will decide who the recipient will be. |

Application Process |
Members who have entered and show in gymkhana classes at fair. |
|
Type of Award |
A flamingo trophy and is presented at the end of the show on Saturday. |
| Paul Lang Memorial Overall Gymkhana Championship | |
|
Requirement to Apply |
Awarded to the 4-H member with the Highest overall Point total from speed events during Achievement Day 1, Achievement Day 2, and the Ingham County Fair. |

Entries for Achievement Day 1, Achievement Day 2, and the Ingham County Fair. |
|
Type of Award |
The winner will be presented with a certificate during ceremonies on Sunday at the fair and receive their award at the banquet in January. |
