In cooperation with the Ingham County Parks Department, this group provides a conduit for citizen input that will identify, evaluate, and implement ideas for the conservation, improvement, and care of Rayner Park land and facilities. BEGINNINGS Friends of Rayner Park began as a group of citizens concerned about the long-term health of the Rayner woodlot that has continued meeting to keep abreast of park issues and help care for the whole park. PAST PROJECTS - Expanded playground sand digger area - Removed invasive species (Garlic Mustard) - Developed & maintained native plant garden, including plantings and paths FUTURE PROJECTS - Increase plantings in native plant garden - Build a permanent garden border - Continue garden maintenance (cleanup, weeding, mulching) - Remove invasive species
