MISSION STATEMENT

FOR Playground VolunteersThe Friends of Rayner Park is a community group formed to help care for and enhance the park.  In cooperation with the Ingham County Parks Department, this group provides a conduit for citizen input that will identify, evaluate, and implement ideas for the conservation, improvement, and care of Rayner Park land and facilities.

BEGINNINGS

Rayner Woodlot

Friends of Rayner Park began as a group of citizens concerned about the long-term health of the Rayner woodlot that has continued meeting to keep abreast of park issues and help care for the whole park.

PAST PROJECTS 

FOR Volunteer Garden

- Expanded playground sand digger area

- Removed invasive species (Garlic Mustard)

- Developed & maintained native plant garden,

   including plantings and paths




 

 

FUTURE PROJECTS
Rayner Friends Garden

- Increase plantings in native plant garden

- Build a permanent garden border

- Continue garden maintenance (cleanup,

   weeding, mulching)

- Remove invasive species
