
The contest is over, but the scarecrows are still on display at the Zoo October 17
– October 31, 2009.
Rules:

Complete the entry form and submit to Potter Park Zoo by October
2, 2009. Up to 40 scarecrow entries will be accepted on a
first-come, first-served basis. There is no fee to participate. Contestants are responsible for scarecrow materials, unless where specified.
Scarecrow specifications:
- All scarecrows must be imaginative, family-friendly and have an animal theme.
- Scarecrow displays are limited to a singular scarecrow. Multiple scarecrows or additional props (not attached to the scarecrow) will not be allowed.
- No glass, sharp objects or appliances may be used to complete your scarecrow.
- Potter Park Zoo will provide vertical post and horizontal arm support.
- Contestants must provide string or wire to attach their scarecrows to the posts.
Scarecrows will be on display outside and should be
built to withstand unpredictable weather conditions such
as wind, rain and snow.
Potter Park Zoo reserves the right to remove any
scarecrow that does not hold up to natural elements.
Scarecrow size:
Scarecrow minimum height is 4 feet and maximum height is 8 feet.
Scarecrow set-up:
Friday, October 16 between 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Saturday, October 17 between
Judging:
Scarecrows will be judged by an independent judging panel
