If you've ever taken a zoo tour, attended one of our classes, or gone to a special zoo event then you've had the opportunity to appreciate what our zoo volunteers do. But did you know that you, too, could easily work at the zoo, learn about wildlife, and receive an education about wild animals by becoming a volunteer yourself?
Some people who visit the Potter Park Zoo think that our docent volunteers must have degrees in zoology or teaching certificates to work here, but that's not true! Anyone with the desire to learn about wildlife and teach others about its wonders can join us.
And if you're not really sure you want to be an educator, we have many other opportunities for those of you who would like to support our zoo with the generous donation of something that's really special and rare these days--your time. I n this section you can read about volunteer opportunities and sign up for a program. Thanks for your interest. Volunteers are the valued people who make the Potter Park Zoo what it is today!
