Looking for another way to help the zoo other than being a docent or special events volunteer?  Here are some choices that many people have found fun and rewarding.


Act as a roving ambassador for the zoo while monitoring the safety of the animals and helping visitors to enjoy their day at the Potter Park Zoo.  Flexible hours make this a great opportunity for those with little extra time to spare from their busy schedules.


You can adopt a garden or just come at your leisure to help our Horticulturist with the gardens on grounds. You will be able to "de-stress" while working in the gardens, listening to the penguins bray and the lions roar!


Learn how to create light sculptures for our Wonderland of Lights event in December or help decorate the zoo with light  for our outdoor events!


Help visitors save money by showing them the benefits of purchasing zoo memberships or help in our office with the mailing of memberships, event invitations and seasonal promotions. This is a great opportunity for those people who enjoy office tasks or would like to do something for the zoo that doesn't require a lot of walking.


Are you handy with a hammer or saw? During the year we have need of people that can build simple items from animal enrichment items to holiday cutouts for photos and more!  If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, please let us know!
