RESOLUTION HONORING JASON PREVO



RESOLUTION #04-119



WHEREAS, Jason Prevo is a senior at Everett High School; and



WHEREAS, during his high school career Jason actively participated on Everett's Baseball Team for four years, he served as a photographer for the 2004 yearbook, and in 2002, as a camp counselor for Attwood Elementary School at Ebersole Center near Hastings; and



WHEREAS, in the summer of 2003, he played baseball for the U.S. Baseball Stars in Australia under the direction of Steve Merriman, where he helped to bring home a Silver and Gold Medal; and

WHEREAS, Jason joined Tiger Cub Pack 401 at Cavanaugh School in September of 1992, in February of 1997 he received his Arrow of Light and crossed over into the Boy Scouts where he has served as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Scribe, Instructor, Patrol Leader and currently serves as Junior Assistant Scoutmaster at Troop 411; and



WHEREAS, as a member of Boy Scout Troop #411, Jason has earned at least 21 merit badges; and



WHEREAS, his Eagle Project involved cleaning, repairing and restoring grave markers at Markham Cemetery in Delhi Township, Jason supervised 43 youths and adults who spent a total of 213.5 hours completing the project, he spent an additional 16.5 hours planning and carrying out the project; and



WHEREAS, Jason has earned the highest rank attainable in Scouting, the Eagle Scout; and



WHEREAS, to achieve the Eagle rank, a scout must demonstrate leadership and citizenship while earning 21 merit badges before reaching the age of 18.



THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby congratulates Jason Prevo for earning the rank of Eagle Scout and extends its sincere appreciation to Jason for serving as a positive role model for the youth in our community.
