RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A SERVICE CONTRACT
WITH
MID-SOUTH SUBSTANCE ABUSE
COMMISSION
RESOLUTION #04-226
WHEREAS, the Mid-South Substance Abuse Commission has participated
in a pilot substance abuse intervention project with patients of the County’s
network of community health centers; and
WHEREAS, the pilot project was very successful; and
WHEREAS, the Health Department and Mid-South would like to
continue the intervention services with grant funding from Ingham
County and an allocation of Mid-South funds; and
WHEREAS, the Health Officer has advised that HCAP grant funds and
Kellogg Foundation “Community Voices” funds are available to support $35,000 of
the annual $55,000 cost of the project; and
WHEREAS, the Health Officer has recommended that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorize the service
contract with Mid-South Substance Abuse Commission.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham
County Board of Commissioners authorizes a service contract with Mid-South
Substance Abuse Commission (MSSAC), wherein MSSAC will provide substance abuse
intervention services to patients of the Ingham
County community health center network, by locating part-time substance abuse
case managers in health centers.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the period of the agreement shall be
July 1, 2004 through June 30, 2005.

case managers, on a part-time basis, in four of the health centers: Adult Health, Leslie/Stockbridge, Sparrow and
St. Lawrence.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized
to sign the contract with Mid-South Substance Abuse Commission after review by
the
