RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE BUDGET ADJUSTMENTS AND NEW POSITIONS WITHIN

THE 55TH DISTRICT COURT

RESOLUTION #04-233

WHEREAS, the 55th District Court had a performance audit conducted by SCAO in 2003 that identified the need of additional personnel to deal with increasing caseloads, backlogs in case dispositions and reports, and provide needed backup for existing Court personnel functions; and

WHEREAS, the 55th District Court has proposed revenue enhancements in the current 55th District Court budget to fund service enhancements to address these issues; and

WHEREAS, the 55th District Court in cooperation with the Facilities Department has identified sufficient space within the existing Court Facility to house these two positions with minimal costs.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves a phased in approach for adding two full-time District Court Clerk positions contingent on the Controller verifying that there will be sufficient new revenue to pay for the positions and some related costs:

One Full-time District Court Clerk effective August 1, 2004 2004 Salary Range:

$26,220 - $31,464

One Full-time District Court Clerk effective January 1, 2005 2005 Salary Range:

$27,007 - $32,408

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners directs the Controller to make the necessary budgetary adjustments and Position Allocation List amendments within the 55th District Court’s 2004 and 2005 budgets.
