INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

 

RESOLUTION HONORING DELORES “DEE” BROWN

 

RESOLUTION #04-264

 

WHEREAS, Delores “Dee” Brown began her career with Ingham County on July 1, 1976 as Operations Staff  in what was then called the Data Processing Department; and

 

WHEREAS, Dee was the first full time person hired by Ingham County to operate the County's computers; and

 

WHEREAS, for years she keypunched all of the payroll data for the County and operated the original Burroughs mainframe, as well as the replacement computers through today's Unisys mainframe computer; and

 

WHEREAS, Dee provided data entry for elections held in Ingham County until the new punch ballots were instituted and processed all of the Friend of the Court checks for approximately 20 years; and

 

WHEREAS, during her years of service with Ingham County, Dee has seen the County go through the era of typewriters and into the new generation of rapidly changing technology; and

 

WHEREAS, after more than twenty eight years of dedicated service, Dee is retiring from her position as Operations Staff in the Management Information Services Department on  September 14, 2004.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honors Delores “Dee” Brown for her many years of dedicated service to the County of Ingham and extends its sincere appreciation for the countless contributions she has made to the employees and citizens of Ingham County.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners extends its best wishes to Dee and hopes for continued success in her future endeavors.
