RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE BULLETPROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP GRANT

RESOLUTION #04-292

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office applied for and has been approved to receive a Bulletproof Vest Partnership grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance; and

WHEREAS, the award amount of the grant is $579.16, for the reimbursement of a percentage of the monies already spent for the purchase of nine (9) bulletproof vests; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of the purchase of the bulletproof vests is to enhance the safety of the Deputies of the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves the acceptance of the 2004 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance in the amount of $579.16 for the time period of April 1, 2004 to April 1, 2005.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents that are consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners directs the Controller to make the necessary budget adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office 2004 budget.
