 RESOLUTION HONORING MARK STANLEY

 

RESOLUTION #04-298

 

WHEREAS, Mark Stanley graduated in June of 2004 from Everett High School where he has received numerous academic awards; and

 

WHEREAS, he currently attends Lansing Community College and upon graduation would like to attend the Police Academy and become a member of the Lansing Police Department; and

 

WHEREAS, Mark’s scouting career began in 1995 when he became a Webelos Scout at Pack 401, in February of 1997 he received his Arrow of Light and crossed over into the Boy Scouts; and

 

WHEREAS, he has served as an Assistant Senior Patrol Leader and Quartermaster for Troop 411 and is also a member of Explorer Post 133 at the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office where he holds the position of Personnel Officer; and

 

WHEREAS, Mark’s Eagle Project consisted of building  stairs and benches at the Ingham County Conservation Center, he supervised 9 youths and adults who spent a total of 47 hours completing the project and spent an additional 4 hours planning and 18 hours carrying out his project; and

 

WHEREAS, Mark has recently earned the highest rank attainable in Scouting, the Eagle Scout; and

 

WHEREAS, to achieve the Eagle rank, a scout must demonstrate leadership and citizenship while earning 21 merit badges before reaching the age of 18.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners congratulates Mark Stanley for earning the rank of Eagle Scout and extends its sincere appreciation to Mark for serving as a positive role model for the youth in our community.
