RESOLUTION TO REIMBURSE THE 55TH DISTRICT COURT

PETTY CASH FUND AND BOND ACCOUNT

 

RESOLUTION #04-321

 

WHEREAS, the 55th District Court generally collects over $2 million dollars in revenue each year from the Civil, Traffic, Criminal, and Probation Divisions; and

 

WHEREAS, the 55th District Court’s petty cash has been used to balance the general ledger where there has been a cashier error; and

 

WHEREAS, a total of $80.00 ($50 in 2003 and $30 in 2004) has been used from the Petty Cash to balance these errors; and

 

WHEREAS, the 55th District Court reports a loss of $200 on a Dart Bank deposit (January 26, 2004) to the Dart Bank Express drive-thru branch in Mason, where the bank cashier stated $200 was missing from said deposit; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of Financial Services was consulted and agrees that the errors made have been minimal when compared to the amount of revenue received, and further agrees that fraud is not a consideration in this matter.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners recognizes the transfers of monies from the 55th District Court’s supply line item to reimburse the 55th District Court’s Mason State Bank Petty Cash Fund in the amount of $80.00 and the Dart Bank Bond Account in the amount of $200.00.
