RESOLUTION HONORING TERRY BRAIL
RESOLUTION #04-345
WHEREAS, Terry Brail began his career with Ingham County in 1989 as Executive Director of the Ingham County Fair; and
WHEREAS, at that time there were discussions regarding dissolving the Ingham County Fair because of continuous years of losses in revenues; and
WHEREAS, during his first year with the County, Terry was able to turn the Fair around into a revenue-generating, self-sufficient enterprise; and
WHEREAS, under Terry=s leadership, new cost savings were implemented while at the same time improvements were made to the fairgrounds making it more attractive as an ideal show grounds; and.
WHEREAS, the most notable improvements were the building of the new Fair Offices, the Community Hall, and the Main Arena, these additions to the fairgrounds have been significant in their contributions to the revenue stream; and.
WHEREAS, Terry also added several new barns, improved the camping facilities, and improved the electrical system throughout the grounds; and
WHEREAS, his improvements to the show rings have made it possible to host horse shows nearly every weekend of the spring and summer season; and.
WHEREAS, Terry also implemented a winter storage program, allowing individuals to store R.V.s of all types and sizes as well as cars and boats, which contributes significantly to the fairgrounds self-sufficiency; and
WHEREAS, Terry will be retiring from his position as Executive Director of the Ingham County Fairgrounds effective December 27, 2004.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honors Terry Brail for his dedication and commitment to the County of Ingham and its citizens as Executive Director of the Ingham County Fair.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes him continued success in all of his future endeavors.
