RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A COLLABORATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE

CAPITAL AREA UNITED WAY

 

RESOLUTION #05-148

 

WHEREAS, Ingham County and the Capital Area United Way share an interest in promoting the health and well being of Ingham County residents, and both desire to measure health and well being over time through a set of indicators; and

 

WHEREAS, the Capital Area United Way will play the lead role for some activities and Ingham County will lead some activities in the shared effort to promote health and well being; and

 

WHEREAS, the Health Officer has advised that the Ingham County funds to support this collaboration are included in the Health Department’s 2005 budget and has recommended that Ingham County enter into a collaborative agreement with the Capital Area United Way.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes a collaborative agreement with the Capital Area United Way.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the period of the agreement shall be June 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Capital Area United Way shall contribute $14,000 to Ingham County and the County shall provide leadership for implementing a Health Initiative Program through subcontracting with neighborhood and community agencies.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Ingham County shall contribute $49,200 to the Capital Area United Way and the United Way shall provide leadership for developing the next phase of the Community Indicator Project, obtaining funds from other entities, contracting with survey firms and coordinating the work of the Community Data Committee to draft the 2006 edition of “The Power of We” community indicator report.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller is authorized to amend the Health Department’s 2006 budget to implement this resolution.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Health Department is authorized to incorporate the Capital Area United Way funding into existing and future subcontracts with neighborhood and community agencies.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson is authorized to sign the collaborative agreement with the Capital Area United Way and the subcontracts or subcontract amendments with neighborhood and community agencies after review by the County Attorney.
