RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONTRACTS WITH LANSING AND EAST LANSING FOR 911 CENTER 2005/06 OPERATIONS AND AMENDING THE 911 EMERGENCY TELEPHONE DISPATCH SERVICES FUND ALLOCATION POLICY

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners has established a 911 Emergency Telephone Dispatch Services Fund for Management and System Improvements to the County emergency dispatch system and a policy that reserves twenty percent of the total revenues per year for these purposes; and

 

WHEREAS, under this policy the Lansing and East Lansing 911 Centers; 2005/06 operational budgets would not receive the full ninety-five per cent reimbursement this fiscal year due to their costs exceeding eighty per cent of the total 911 2005/06 revenues; and

 

WHEREAS, the cities of Lansing and East Lansing are requesting that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners fully fund their 2005/06 operational budget requests from the 911 Emergency Telephone Dispatch Services - 911 Fund.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the expenditure of up to $5,685,300 from the 911 Emergency Telephone Dispatch Services - 911 Fund by approving reimbursement of the City of East Lansing’s 2005/06 fiscal year operational budget of $1,209,721 and by approving reimbursement of the City of Lansing’s 2005/06 fiscal year operational budget of $4,475,579.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the expenditure of up to $5,685,300 from the 911 Emergency Telephone Dispatch Services - 911 Fund by approving reimbursement of the City of East Lansing’s 2005/06 fiscal year operational budget of $1,209,721 ($1,173,641 operational funds plus $36,080 management and system improvement funds) and by approving reimbursement of the City of Lansing’s 2005/06 fiscal year operational budget of $4,475,579 ($4,342,096 operational funds plus $133,483 management and system improvement funds).

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes the use of management and system improvement funds (20% of the total 911 revenues) to fully reimburse the cities of Lansing [$133,483] and East Lansing [$36,080] for the provision of 911 and emergency telephone dispatch service for up to ninety five percent (95%) of the eligible operational costs.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board Chairperson and County Clerk are hereby authorized to sign any necessary documents upon approval as to form by the County Attorney.
