RESOLUTION TO CHANGE THE HOURS OF THE

CIRCUIT COURT CLERK’S OFFICE

RESOLUTION #07-267

WHEREAS, the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office at the Veterans Memorial Courthouse is currently open from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.; and

WHEREAS, the closing time of 5:00 p.m. is causing problems with individuals arriving at the Clerk’s Office close to 5:00 p.m. and not allowing enough time for them to be waited on without incurring overtime or comp time; and

WHEREAS, several individuals who work 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., have expressed an interest in being able to access the Clerk’s Office prior to 9:00 a.m.; and

WHEREAS, closing earlier would allow some staff to balance their cash drawers before leaving; and

WHEREAS, the proposed new hours are the same as those for the 54-A District Court; and

WHEREAS, the majority of the Judges support the proposed new hours.

WHEREAS, the Court will do this administratively through an Administrative Order through the State Court’s Administrative Office and it will post the notice in the Clerk’s Office and put notices in legal publications. 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office will open at 8:30 a.m. and close at 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday during normal Court days of operation, effective January 1, 2008.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that anyone who enters the Clerk’s Office by 4:30 p.m. will be waited on.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a supervisor will be available for anyone who has emergency matters from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
