RESOLUTION HONORING DEPUTY JOHN HAVEN

 

RESOLUTION #08-175

 

WHEREAS, Deputy John Haven began his employment with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office in 1983, in the Corrections Division; and

 

WHEREAS, during his years of service with the Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Haven was also assigned to the Law Enforcement Division, providing road patrol services to Delhi Township, Webberville, Stockbridge and the Community Policing Unit in Williamstown Township; and

 

WHEREAS, his other assignments included the 30th Judicial Circuit Court Security Unit, the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, Sheriff’s Honor Guard, and the Sheriff’s Heavy Rescue Squad; and

 

WHEREAS, Deputy Haven is the recipient of a Bravery Award for his part in the arrest of 16 armed gang members out of the Detroit area for the shooting and attempted murder

of an MSU student, he is the recipient of a Life Saving Award, and 3 unit citation, one of  which included the arrest of an armed subject for assault and kidnapping at a local Holt store; and

 

WHEREAS, Deputy Haven is retiring from his position with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honors Deputy John Haven for 25 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Ingham County and wishes him continued success in all of his future endeavors.
