RESOLUTION HONORING LIEUTENANT BRYCE ALFORD

 

RESOLUTION #08-176

 

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Bryce Alford began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in July of 1983 as a Deputy in the Corrections Division, in September of that year he graduated from the first Ingham County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Academy; and

 

WHEREAS, in 1984, he joined the Dive Team and Marine Unit, he graduated from Lansing Community College’s Paramedic Program in 1985, and was transferred from Corrections to the Field Services Division as a Paramedic Deputy assigned to road patrol in 1986; and

 

WHEREAS, in 1994 he was promoted to Sergeant in Field Services and became a Field Training Officer in 1997, later that year he was promoted to Lieutenant, and in 1999 Lieutenant Alford was transferred to Corrections as a Receiving Lieutenant, until 2000, when he was transferred to Staff Services; and

 

WHEREAS, while serving as the Staff Services Lieutenant in 2002, Lieutenant Alford installed the in- car computers in the patrol vehicles, significantly improving communications with the 911 Center, and enabling deputies to run queries over the L.E.I.N. and N.C.I.C. system; and 

 

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Alford has been a member of the 911 Advisory Board since 1999, where he has served as Chairperson since 2004, in this capacity he has researched and was instrumental in implementing the new county-wide MA/COM radio system in 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Alford was also responsible for implementing the new Vision Air Records Management System at the Sheriff’s Office in 2007, he has earned a Meritorious Unit citation and a Lifesaving award during his career and was named the Jackson National Life Deputy of the Year 2008.

 

WHEREAS, Lieutenant Bryce Alford is retiring from his position with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honors Lieutenant Bryce Alford for 25 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Ingham County and wishes him continued success in all of his future endeavors.
