RESOLUTION HONORING PAULA JOHNSON

 

RESOLUTION #08-304

 

WHEREAS, Paula Johnson is one of Ingham County’s longest serving county-wide elected officials; and

 

WHEREAS, she was elected by the voters of Ingham County to serve as Register of Deeds in November of 1976, taking office in January of 1977; and

 

WHEREAS, during her years of service with Ingham County, Paula has pioneered the Register of Deeds Office into the new millennium; with technology changing at a rapid pace, she has guided her staff from searching index books and index cards, through microfiche and into the era of digital imaging; and

 

WHEREAS, Paula has been a blade runner for the historical preservation, and retention for disaster recovery of Ingham County records; and

 

WHEREAS, as a member of eight professional organizations, Paula has used the knowledge  gained from other members to better serve the residents of Ingham County and to keep Ingham County in the forefront of record management with the latest technology available; and

 

WHEREAS, earlier this year, Paula was selected as “Register of Deeds of the Year” by the membership of the Michigan Association of Register of Deeds; and

 

WHEREAS, after devoting the past 32 years of her life to public service, Paula is retiring from her position as Register of Deeds.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honors Paula Johnson for her many years of outstanding service to the County of Ingham and its citizens. 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes her continued success in all of her future endeavors.
