RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH

BRIGGS MECHANICAL FOR REPLACEMENT OF TWO ROOFTOP HVAC UNITS

AT 55^TH DISTRICT COURT

RESOLUTION #08-076

WHEREAS, the condition of the two existing rooftop HVAC Units at the 55^th District Court have deteriorated to the point where replacement is necessary; and

WHEREAS, funds for this project have been budgeted and are available through the 2008 Capital Improvement Plan (Replace Rooftop Units-55^th District Court), 245-13799-976000-8FC04; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department solicited proposals to include all labor, materials, and equipment to properly replace the two rooftop HVAC Units, after review of these bids it is the recommendation of both the Purchasing and Facilities Departments to award a contract to Briggs Mechanical, who submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid in the amount of $30,963.00, which also reflects the payment of prevailing wage.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes awarding a contract to Briggs Mechanical, 409 S. Putnam Street, Williamston, Michigan 48895, for the replacement of the two HVAC Rooftop Units at the 55^th District Court, for a total cost not to exceed $30,963.00.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary documents that are consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
