WORKERS COMPENSATION FUND DEFICIT ELIMINATION PLAN

RESOLUTION #08-095

WHEREAS, an accounting deficit of $462,386 exist in the Workers’ Compensation internal service fund as of December 31, 2007; and

WHEREAS, a deficit elimination plan must be approved by the County Board of Commissioners and filed with the State of Michigan Local Audit Division; and

WHEREAS, after review by Financial Services, it has been determined that currently budgeted charges must be increased by up to 250% to eliminate the deficit by the end of 2009.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners adopts a deficit elimination plan that increases budgeted charges to user departments through the 2009 budget year.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Workers’ Compensation internal service fund will be monitored on a biannual basis and the budget or the plan will be modified to insure elimination of the deficit.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Ingham County Controller will submit the Deficit Elimination Plan to the Department of Treasury for certification.
