RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH CUSACK’S MASONRY RESTORATION, INC. TO PROVIDE TUCK POINTING SERVICES
AT THE GRADY PORTER BUILDING
RESOLUTION #09-298
WHEREAS, the exterior of the Grady Porter Building is in need of restoration due to deterioration over time; and
WHEREAS, the building has some cracked stone and leaking windows that need to be repaired; and
WHEREAS, the funds for this project are available within the 2009 CIP Fund 245-26710-931000-9FC08; and
WHEREAS, after careful review of bids, the Purchasing and Facilities Departments both concur that a contract be awarded to Cusack’s Masonry Restoration, Inc., who submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid in the amount of not to exceed $133,684.00, which also reflects the payment of prevailing wage; and
WHEREAS, a contingency of $10,000.00 is being asked for by the Facilities Department for any unforeseen circumstances that may arise with this type of restoration.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes awarding a contract to Cusack’s Masonry Restoration, Inc. to perform restorations at the Ingham County Grady Porter Building for a cost of $133,684.00 plus $10,000.00 contingency for a total of $143,684.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary documents that are consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
