INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

 

RESOLUTION TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH HIGHFIELDS, INC.

FOR THE INGHAM ACADEMY

 

RESOLUTION #09-312

 

WHEREAS, the Ingham Academy an alternative day treatment program, continues to provide behavioral intervention and support to court adjudicated youth who have not been successful in their home districts; and

 

WHEREAS, Highfields, Inc. staff provides the behavioral intervention needed by the students on a daily basis as well as the transportation of the juveniles to and from the program; and

 

WHEREAS, Highfields, Inc. submitted a budget of $585,850 to cover their expenses, which has been made a part of the proposed 2010 County Budget.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes an agreement in the amount of $585,850 with Highfields, Inc. for the transportation and behavioral intervention of youth attending the Ingham Academy, for the time period of October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,  because the entire Juvenile Justice Millage allocation is now being used for operational costs, it is incumbent on the Court to live within the current Juvenile Justice Millage revenue stream and matching child care funds to operate this program during the 2009/ 2010 budget.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary documents that are consistent with this Resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
