RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT A 2009 RISK AVOIDANCE GRANT (RAP) FROM THE MICHIGAN MUNICIPAL RISK MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY (MMRMA) FOR COMMAND SCHOOL TRAINING REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE INGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

RESOLUTION #09-315

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office has applied for and has been approved to receive a Risk Avoidance Grant (RAP) from the Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority (MMRMA); and

WHEREAS, the purpose of this grant is for the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office to receive a RAP Grant to pay up to fifty percent to a maximum of $850.00, to assist in the tuition for a command staff member to attend the 2009 Staff and Command School at Michigan State University; and

WHEREAS, the award grant is dependent on the officer to successfully complete the training; and

WHEREAS, the remaining costs of the school will be paid for by 302 funds provided by the State of Michigan.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves acceptance of the 2009 Risk Avoidance Grant (RAP) from the Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority (MMRMA) up to a maximum of $850.00.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners directs the Controller/Administrator to make any necessary budget adjustments in the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office 2009 Budget.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents that are consistent with this Resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
