RESOLUTION ALLOWING THE DONATION OF SICK LEAVE WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT / OFFICE IRRESPECTIVE OF EMPLOYEE GROUP AFFILIATION OR BARGAINING UNIT MEMBERSHIP

WHEREAS, it has been an established practice to allow sick leave donations among the same employee group in the same department / office; and

 

WHEREAS, a need has developed to expand the eligibility of sick leave donations within a Department / Office irrespective of Employee Group affiliations or bargaining unit membership.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby establishes the following Policy:

 

Ingham County Policy Allowing the Donations of Sick Leave Within the Department / Office Irrespective of Employee Group Affiliation or Bargaining Unit Membership

 

Statement:  Irrespective of Employee Group affiliation or Bargaining Unit Membership, an otherwise eligible employee may donate sick leave to another employee in the same Department / Office as permitted by the terms of the donor’s collective bargaining agreement.

 

Condition:  The donating employee must have eighty (80) sick leave hours in his or her sick leave bank. 

 

Limitation:  An employee may donate not more than a total of sixteen (16) sick leave hours per calendar year to not more than two (2) individuals within the same Department / Office. 

 

The terms and conditions of a sick leave provision in a collective bargaining agreement will supersede the terms of this Policy.
