RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING ROBIN NAEYAERT AND TERI MORTON ON RECEIVING THE MICHIGAN GOVERNMENT FINANCE OFFICERS’ ASSOCIATION CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT IN FINANCIAL REPORTING AND DISTINGUISHED BUDGET AWARD

RESOLUTION #09-382

WHEREAS, the Michigan Government Finance Officers’ Association (MGFOA) is a professional association of public officials, finance and professional persons which was established in 1938, serving its members for more than fifty years; and

WHEREAS, active members are practitioners of all kinds of financial functions at state and local government levels, associate members are CPA's, bankers, brokers, consultants, lawyers, educators and others concerned with local government finance and promoting the objectives of the Association; and

WHEREAS, a fundamental objective of the Michigan Government Finance Officers’ Association is to foster improvement in method of local government finance, including promotion of “best practices” relating to budgeting, accounting and financial reporting; and

WHEREAS, their Certificate for Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been promoting the preparation of high-quality Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports since 1945, and the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award Program has been promoting the preparation of high-quality budget documents since 1984; and

WHEREAS, Ingham County is one of seven counties within the State of Michigan to receive the Michigan Government Finance Officers’ Association Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting and Distinguished Budget Award, the highest recognition of governmental finance.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby congratulates Robin Naeyaert, who served as Interim Financial Services Director, and Budget Director Teri Morton on receiving the Michigan Government Finance Officers’ Association Certificate of Achievement in Financial Reporting and Distinguished Budget Award.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board extends its sincere appreciation to Robin Naeyaert and Teri Morton for their exemplary accomplishments and for their dedication and commitment to the County of Ingham.
