INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

 

RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING FAITH FELLOWSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH ON THE EVENT OF THEIR 10TH ANNIVERSARY

 

RESOLUTION #09-385

 

WHEREAS, Faith Fellowship Baptist Church, with Interim Pastor Stan Parker, held its first public worship service on November 21, 1999 at the Kellogg Center on the campus of Michigan State University, services were later moved to the Comfort Inn located in Okemos; and

 

WHEREAS, after 18 months of worship at the Comfort Inn, and with continual growth of the church and congregation, their first church was purchased at 1142 Lathrop Street in Lansing; after 6 years of worshipping at the Lathrop Street location, the church moved to the current location of 1001 Dakin Street, Lansing; and

           

WHEREAS, since the church began many ministries have been initiated such as Sunday School, Children’s Church, Youth Ministry, College Ministry, Bible Study, Adult and Children Choirs along with their Home and International Mission; and

 

WHEREAS, in September of 2007 the non-profit Eastside Community Action Center was established which houses  a Clothes Closet, Faith Food Pantry, After School Program, computer lab and their mentoring program entitled “Inspire to Achieve”; and

 

WHEREAS, during their 10 years, Faith Fellowship Baptist Church has sent college students throughout the nation to help shape these future leaders, the church now focuses on young adults and families to strengthen the foundation of the church and help secure its future.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby congratulates Faith Fellowship Baptist Church on the event of their 10th anniversary.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board appreciates the contributions Faith Fellowship Baptist Church has made to the residents of Ingham County and wishes them continued success in their future endeavors.
