INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

 

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS ADVISORY BOARD (CCAB) TO CONTINUE A CONTRACT FOR STAFF CONSULTANT SERVICES

 

RESOLUTION #10-062

 

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Commissioners authorized funds in the FY2010 Budget to continue a contract for CCAB staff consultant services; and

 

WHEREAS, the current contract period authorizes services through December of 2009; and

 

WHEREAS, the Westaff, Inc. agency will continue to serve as the contractor for these services at the negotiated rate of 22%; and

 

WHEREAS, to reduce the cost of these services to the County, the staff consultant position was reduced to three-quarter time from a total of 1,856 hours to 1,416 hours annually at the 2009 hourly rate of $29.97 per hour, with no paid holidays and three weeks of unpaid vacation time resulting in a total cost of $42,438 for 2010; and 

 

WHEREAS, State of Michigan – Office of Community Corrections and City of Lansing grant funds also reduce the cost of staff consultant services to the County by $18,240, resulting in an actual cost to the County of $24,198 for 2010.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby approves entering a contract with Westaff, Inc. for CCAB staff consultant services from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010, for an amount not to exceed $42,438.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the contract funds will come from the Community Corrections 2010 Budget.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any contract documents consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
