RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING DONNA HOBART ON THE EVENT OF HER

RETIREMENT FROM THE TRI-COUNTY OFFICE ON AGING

 

RESOLUTION #10-177

 

WHEREAS, Donna Hobart began her career with the Tri-County Office on Aging in 1985 as a Planner of Senior Services in the tri-county area; and

 

WHEREAS, during her tenure, Donna also served as the first Care Management Director, Planning Director and Deputy Director; and

 

WHEREAS, she was instrumental in raising over $1.6 million dollars through a Capital Campaign to build a new kitchen for the Meals on Wheels and congregate meals; and

 

WHEREAS, Donna served as the main liaison for the Friends for Life Council, the fundraising arm of Tri-County Office on Aging; where she worked tirelessly at coordinating over 20 very successful golf outings and annual dinner/auction events to raise money for Meals on Wheels and other in-home services; and

 

WHEREAS, she developed and submitted over 20 Annual Area Plans to the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging (OSA), was instrumental in developing the first caregiver programs and services served on the CATA Advisory Council for over 20 years and contributed to the growth of and access to transportation services to old adults, especially those with limited abilities; and

 

WHEREAS, Donna also covered media communication and events for Tri-County Office on Aging for 15 years and served the TCOA  well by building and sustaining meaningful and long lasting relationships with the Consortium Board, Advisory Council, other community agencies, neighborhoods groups and senior organizations; and

 

WHEREAS, she was the main liaison to OSA, an outstanding working relationship and partnership remains strong due to her efforts; she worked as a mentor and coach to several students throughout the years, some of which became dedicated employees; and she also developed trusting and long lasting working relationships with members of the Board of Directors and elected officials in the tri-county area; and

 

WHEREAS, after 25 years of dedicated service to the Tri-County Office on Aging, Donna is retiring from her position where she will be missed by all.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby congratulates Donna Hobart for 25 years of dedicated service to the Tri-County Office on Aging and extends its sincere appreciation to Donna for the many contributions she has made to the citizens of Ingham County, particularly the senior citizens.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board wishes her continued success in all of her future endeavors.
