INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT TO
TOMCO ASPHALT FOR PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS

AT THE INGHAM COUNTY FAMILY CENTER

RESOLUTION #10-248

WHEREAS, this project involves improvements to the east parking lot and entrance driveway; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution #02-263, which established a policy requiring certain contractors to pay their employees a prevailing wage; and

WHEREAS, services would consists removal of the existing driveway, parking lot, sidewalk, and concrete curb; and

WHEREAS, the improvements shall include a new landscaped island, new curb and gutter, a graded and landscaped water retention swell, new surface for driveway and parking lot, stripping for 85 vehicles and signage; and

WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $130,000.00 are budgeted within the Juvenile Justice Millage, line item 264-46640-931000-0FC10 for this project.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes entering into a contract with TomCo Asphalt, 3694 West Columbia Road, Mason, Michigan 48854, for an amount not to exceed $57,877.00 plus $6,000.00 contingency for unforeseen problems such as a need for additional aggregate.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and the County Clerk to sign any necessary documents that are consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
