INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

 

RESOLUTION APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE CORRECTION OFFICERS

 

RESOLUTION #10-251

 

WHEREAS, an agreement has been reached between representatives of Ingham County and the FOP Correction Officers during the period of January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2011 (Attachment); and

 

WHEREAS, the agreement has been ratified by the employees within the bargaining unit; and

 

WHEREAS, the provisions of the agreement have been approved by the County Services and Finance Committees and are within the guidelines established by the Board of Commissioners.

 

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby approves the Letter of Understanding with Ingham County and the FOP Correction Officers.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners and the Sheriff are authorized to sign the Letter of Understanding on behalf of the County. 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, retro-pay, if applicable, shall not be paid until the Letter of Understanding is signed by both parties.

AMENDMENT AGREEMENT

 

BETWEEN

 

COUNTY OF INGHAM

 

AND

 

SHERIFF OF INGHAM COUNTY

 

AND

 

FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE -CORRECTIONS UNIT

 

 

WHEREAS, the Employer and Union are parties to a collective bargaining agreement with a term running from January 1,2009, through December 31, 2011, and

 

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the Agreement subject to the changes detailed below.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY AGREED as follows:

 

1. Furlough -The employees shall participate in 24 hours of furlough time for 2010 by the reduction of vacation time, compensatory time, personal leave, reduction in paid hours or reduction of 48 hours of sick time at the employee's election. Sick hours donated to the County will not affect the calculation of the payout of sick time that Officers receive under the contract.

           

2. Wages -     Effective January 1,2010, the 2009 wage scale shall be increased by 1%.

 

-         Effective January 1,2011, the 2010 wage scale shall be increased by 1 %.

Meals - The Sheriff s Office will continue meals (staff tray options) until 7-1-10 at which time the employees will be provided an inmate tray at no cost to the employee until December 31, 2011.
