INGHAM COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE COUNTY TREASURER TO APPLY FOR SELECT EMPLOYEE GROUP MEMBERSHIP, ON BEHALF OF INGHAM COUNTY, AT THE MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY FEDERAL CREDIT UNION

RESOLUTION #10-259

WHEREAS, the County Treasurer invests County Funds with the Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (“MSUFCU’); and

WHEREAS, MSUFCU is the largest, based on membership and assets, credit union in Ingham County; and

WHEREAS, the County Treasurer invests County funds with other local credit unions; and

WHEREAS, the County Treasurer would like Ingham County to enter in to a Select Employee Group Membership (“SEG”) with MSUFCU that, if approved by the National Credit Union Administration (“NCUA”), would make employees of Ingham County eligible for membership in MSUFCU if they so desired; and

WHEREAS, entering in to a SEG agreement with MSUFCU will allow the County Treasurer to continue to invest funds with MSUFCU and otherwise take advantage of products offered by MSUFCU.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the County Treasurer, on behalf of Ingham County, to apply for a Select Employee Group Membership in the Michigan State University Federal Credit Union.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board Chairperson is authorized to sign any contract documents consistent with this resolution after approval as to form by the County Attorney.
