RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT A 2010 RAP GRANT FROM MMRMA

FOR PURCHASING FOUR (4) TRAINING ROOM TV MONITORS 

FOR THE INGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE TRAINING UNIT

RESOLUTION #10-320

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office must provide for mandatory state and federal training for all its personnel yearly; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office hosts over a hundred training programs and meetings each year for their deputies and other law enforcement personnel from Michigan in their two training rooms; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office two training rooms have state of the art technology to assist in training and meetings, and the need to upgrade their TV monitors to accept such technology would enhance the effectiveness of said training/meetings; and

WHEREAS, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office has applied for and have been approved to receive, a Risk Avoidance Grant from the Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority; and

WHEREAS, the purpose of this grant is for the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office to purchase four TV Monitors for the two training rooms located in the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office Training Unit; and

WHEREAS, the award amount of this reimbursement grant is to fund 50% of the cost of the four TV Monitors up to $3,042 to be matched on a dollar for dollar basis with Corrections Booking Fees (allowed for training purposes) up to $3,042, for a total cost not to exceed $6,084; and

WHEREAS, part of this grant award, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office will give MMRMA two of the current TV monitors to them for their use as the original monitors were paid for by MMRMA through a previous RAP Grant.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves acceptance of the 2010 Risk Avoidance Grant (RAP) from the Michigan Municipal Risk Management Authority (MMRMA) in the amount of $3,042 to be matched on a dollar for dollar basis with Corrections Booking Fees up to $3,042, for a total cost not to exceed $6,084.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners approves the purchase and installation of four TV Monitors for the two training rooms located in the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office Training Unit at a cost not to exceed $6,084.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Controller/Administrator’s Office is authorized to make the necessary budget adjustments and the Purchasing Department is authorized to issue the necessary purchase order or purchase documents needed.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any necessary contract/purchase documents consistent with this Resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
