RESOLUTION TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF COURTROOM TECHNOLOGY FROM TEL SYSTEMS FOR THE CIRCUIT COURT, DISTRICT COURT, PROBATE COURT, FRIEND OF THE COURT AND FAMILY COURT
RESOLUTION #10-376
WHEREAS, the Courts in Ingham County have a need to replace existing audio/video equipment and add new video conferencing equipment in the courtrooms; and
WHEREAS, these upgrades will allow the Courts to provide better customer service by utilizing state-of-the-art technology; and
WHEREAS, Circuit Court, District Court, Probate Court, Friend of the Court, and Family Court, in conjunction with Purchasing and Management Information Services (MIS) sought proposals; and
WHEREAS, the total costs will be paid out of the Circuit Court, District Court, Probate Court, Friend of the Court, and Family Court budgeted CIP funds ($133,638.24) and fund 664, machinery and equipment revolving fund ($13,110); and
WHEREAS, an Evaluation Committee comprised of Circuit Court, District Court, Probate Court, Friend of the Court, Family Court, Purchasing and MIS reviewed the proposals, and after careful consideration and evaluation, the committee is unanimously recommending entering into a contract with TeL Systems.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners authorizes entering into a contract with TeL Systems, at a cost of $146,748.24 for the purpose of supplying and installing video conferencing equipment courtroom technology.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Controller/Administrator is authorized to make the necessary budget adjustments consistent with this resolution, including transfers from the CIP budgeted funds ($133,638.24) and Fund 664, machinery and equipment revolving fund ($13,110).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Chairperson of the Ingham County Board of Commissioners and the County Clerk are authorized to sign any contract/purchase documents consistent with this resolution and approved as to form by the County Attorney.
