RESOLUTION HONORING RETIRED DEPUTY DORIAN DAVIS OF THE INGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE FOR HIS DEDICATED 20 YEARS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT CAREER PROTECTING THE CITIZENS OF INGHAM COUNTY
RESOLUTION #10-066
WHEREAS, Deputy Dorian Davis was hired by the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office on March 27, 1989; and
WHEREAS, Deputy Davis was assigned to the Corrections Division of the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office from his hire date, working throughout the Division through the summer of 1993; and
WHEREAS, Deputy Davis was transferred to Field Services where he was assigned to the Mid-Michigan Police Academy in the fall of 1993; and
WHEREAS, on November 8, 1993, Deputy Davis graduated from the Mid-Michigan Police Academy as a Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) Certified Law Enforcement Officer; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Dorian Davis worked in all divisions of the Sheriff’s Office including Field Services, Patrol Division, Transports, and Court Security; and
WHEREAS, Deputy Davis also worked in Staff Services, serving as the D.A.R.E. Officer for the Sheriff’s Office, participating in the education of hundreds of county school children in the dangers of drugs and gangs; and
WHEREAS, over his career with the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Davis received over 75 letters of recognition and praise including several awards from members within the Sheriff’s Office and from outside it; and
WHEREAS, after 20 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Ingham County, Deputy Dorian Davis is retiring from the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners hereby honors Deputy Dorian Davis for 20 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Ingham County and wishes him continued success in all of his future endeavors.
