COUNTY BEACHES & SPLASH PAD AT HAWK ISLAND PARK NOW OPEN 

The public beaches at Lake Lansing Park-South, Burchfield Park, and Hawk Island County Park have opened for the summer.  Trained lifeguard staff will be working seven days a week at Lake Lansing Park-South and Hawk Island throughout the summer between the hours of 12pm and 8pm to ensure the safety of all swimmers. 

At Burchfield Park the beach is open and lifeguarded weekends and holidays only from 12pm to 8pm.  All lifeguard staff are Red Cross certified as well as being first-aid and CPR trained.   The Parks Department also provides ongoing lifeguard training throughout the swimming season. All beaches opened on Saturday, May 25, 2013.  Beach hours for the 2013 summer season will be 12:00pm through 8:00pm everyday at Hawk Island and Lake Lansing Park-South and weekends and holidays only at Burchfield Park, weather permitting.

The Splash Pad at Hawk Island also opened on Saturday, May 25, 2013.  Splash Pad hours are 9:00am to 8:00pm, seven days a week, weather permitting.
